Taking a look back at the first guest on Building Bridges

Last weekend, Sebi and Jan were invited to a big Eurovision party, while Dave was fighting a snowstorm back home in Canada. He was shoveling snow for his life, while Jan and Sebi met up with Suzy from Portugal and chatted about her Eurovision experience over coffee.

“It was amazing how ‘Quero ser tua’ became a Eurovision fan-favourite and all the little awards that I won from the Eurovision fans. It just warms my heart, that’s why I’m still here, and I don’t want to lose it.”

We were delighted to get the chance to speak with Suzy for our third episode. Suzy was Portugal’s Eurovision representative from 2014 and remains well-loved by Eurovision fans to this day.

While Sebi and Jan were enjoying coffee with Suzy on a balmy January day in Vienna, Dave was stuck in Canada in the midst of a snowstorm, shoveling over a metre of snow from his driveway!

Back in 2014, Suzy shocked viewers when Quero ser tua failed to qualify for the Grand Final, finishing 11th in the Semi, making it Portugal’s best result at the time since 2010.
