Wunderkind Victor from Greece

The next guest in the Building Bridges studio was Victor Vernicos, the 16-year-old hopeful for Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. Dave and Sebi had a lovely chat with the talented singer and tested his Eurovision knowledge in an exciting quiz.

During his preparations for Liverpool, Victor Vernicos took some time out of his schedule to chat with Sebi and Dave. 

Aged only 16, listening to Victor speak about his preparations for Liverpool, he sounded like a young man wise beyond his years.

Victor opened up about how ERT broke the news that he was selected for Liverpool, his thoughts on the other artists competing in Semi Final 2, and all about his connections to Denmark.

We ended our chat with a pop quiz for Victor to test his knowledge of Greece at Eurovision — and incredibly he got 100%!

Eurovision in Liverpool was dejectedly not kind to Victor. His song “What They Say” came 13th place in Semi Final 2 with only 14 points from the televote — 2 from Armenia, and 12 from Cyprus. This marked only the third time in the Contest’s history that Greece participated and was not in the Grand Final.
