Maybe someone out there knows where Käärijä is, so Salena can get a taste!

We’re back for Season 2 of the pod! And who else to chat with on this special occasion than our favourite Austrian duo, Teya and Salena! They’ve been our guests more times than anyone else!

Welcome to Season 2 of Building Bridges, the Eurovision podcast for the rest of us! While we catch up on our summers and the latest Eurovision news, we also meet Teya and Salena to talk about their Eurovision journey from Austria to Liverpool, as well as the best moment in Salena’s life, which includes Käärijä and a piece of cake!

The ladies took us back to the songwriting camp where WTHIE? was born, how their summer has been since Eurovision, their new single, and a bit of the backstage gossip from Liverpool!

They also revealed more about the atmosphere in the Green Room and opened up about their surprising result.

“We did not expect the juries to give us as many points as they did, because we always thought our song was a public song. When the jury points started we thought this would not be interesting for us and then suddenly we were in eighth place. And if it worked so well with the juries, we thought it would work just as well with the public and the 16 points was of course frustrating because we did not expect it and hoped for better. But we were fine with it very quickly.”

Sadly, they also confirmed that their musical partnership was ending, and nothing new was planned together for 2024, as the ladies will work on their own, separate projects.

Teya & Salena easily sailed through their Semi in second place, and went on to open the Grand Final in Liverpool where they finished the night in 15th place, making Who The Hell Is Edgar? Austria’s best result since 2018.
