We ‘already knew’!

We recently spoke with the delightful Gustaph from Belgium! He had just spent time in the studio recording his new single Already Know, his first release since Because of You.

Gustaph spoke about his path to Eurovision 2023. We went back and discussed his career so far, and how his previous experience on the Eurovision stage prepared him for Liverpool. We also did our best to squeeze some backstage gossip out of him!

Dave cautiously asked Gustaph about his emotions when he won Eurosong, given the betting odds before the show. He had this to say about his performance:

“I have something to say and I’m gonna say it the way I wanna say it. And I think the great thing about that journey was there was a lot of noise [on social media], when I won the [Belgian] Eurovision final, there was a lot of noise from Euroision fans — positive and negative — but I always felt I have to put all of my energy into the work. I don’t want to start the mud-throwing, it’s not me […] it was more about, let’s put all the focus on the work, and I will let the work speak for itself — and I’m very happy that that’s what happened, because that was a bit of a risk. It could have turned out completely different, but I’m very happy that it paid off.”
