Earlier this morning, Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS revealed their artist for the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is the 26-year-old singer and rapper Joost Klein best known for his experimental music.

Joost has already gained international chart success with his 2023 song “Friesenjung” alongside Otto Waalkes. The song reached #1 in the German and Austrian single charts and over 100 million streams online.

AVROTROS revealed that Joost Klein was chosen among 600 applications and the chair of the selection committee, Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen, has justified the decision in the following statement:

With his enormous creativity, we think Joost can put on a great show in a totally original way, and that the Netherlands and Europe are in for a positive surprise. We’re really looking forward to working with him.
