This morning, the official social media of ESCZ announced the winner of their national final. The winner was decided 30% through a Czech televote and 70% through an international fan vote on the official Eurovision Song Contest App.
As a reminder, these were the 7 finalists of ESCZ:
- Aiko – Pedestal
- Elly – The Angel’s Share
- Gianna Lei – Starlet
- Lenny – Good Enough
- Mydy – Red Flag Parade
- Tom Sean – Dopamine Overdose
- Thomas Robin – Out Of My Mind
The voters have decided and chose the Aiko with the song “Pedestal” to represent Czechia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö.
Here is what we think about the second entry for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest:
Sebi: ★★★☆☆
Very surprised that this was chosen. I really liked the studio version but the live version in the Czech final was one of my least favorites. Neither the vocals nor the performance impressed me. Hopefully she will massively improve on the big Eurovision stage.
Dave: ★★☆☆☆
I appreciate how catchy it is but I am not a big fan of the song. Neither the voice, nor the live performance are much to my liking. Potentially it will still grow on me until May!
