Moments ago, the Austrian morning show Ö3-Wecker presented the artist who has been internally selected to represent Austria at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.
It was revealed that the 29-year old singer Kaleen was chosen by the internal jury to represent Austria. The song will be revealed at a later date but it was revealed to be an uptempo song, will include a lot of dancing and called “We Will Rave”.
Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz, the program director of ORF, commented:
‘With Kaleen, we are sending an artist who is versatile – she sings, she dances, she choreographs, and she is an absolute Song Contest insider. We are going to put on a big show in Malmö!’
This marks Austria’s 56th Eurovision Song Contest entry since Bob Martin’s Wohin, kleines Pony? back in 1957!
As an Austrian himself, our host Sebi reacted to this delightful news from his home country this morning:
“This was a rather pleasant surprise this morning. Kaleen is an amazing performer and I’m sure she will do us proud in Malmö”
