Slovenia’s Eurovision hopes for 2024 sit firmly on Raiven’s shoulders, but the trained mezzo-soprano singer, songwriter, and harpist is ready to make a dream come true.
Raiven entered Slovenia’s national selection show EMA three times from 2016-2019 and placed 2nd or 3rd each time. It was only a matter of time until she got her moment on the Eurovision stage and this May she’ll get that chance with her new song Veronika.
Our Jan met up with Raiven at the filming of Misija Malmö – the show broadcast by RTVSLO to premiere Veronika:
“I was confident about people liking the song but I think it was such an emotional roller-coaster for me to create this song, to create the visuals that I’m just relieved that it’s out.”

Here is what the hosts of Building Bridges think of Veronika — Slovenia’s song for Eurovision 2024:
Jan: ★★★★★
As a Slovenian I couldn’t be prouder right now. I have very high hopes for Raiven and I am so excited to be represented amazingly in Malmö!
Sebi: ★★★★☆
I was expecting a dark, haunting and captivating entry and I wasn’t disappointed. Raiven tells a story with this unique piece of art. The visuals of the music video are amazing and with an equally good staging this could be Slovenia’s best result in a long time!
Dave: ★★★★☆
I have never heard a Eurovision song like that. It’s really good and I can see it becoming one of my favorites as we get closer to May!
