As we inch ever closer to February, the week of 14th-20th January brought lots of excitement and drama with the Grand Final in Malmö just 111 days away!
🇪🇪 Estonia’s selection kicks off
Eesti Laul offered fans a brutal Semi Final in 2024 with just five of 15 songs making it to the final. After two rounds of voting, the five songs moving on to the Final were:
- 5miinust ja Puuluup – (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi
- Ollie – My Friend
- Peter Põder – Korra veel
- Anet Vaikmaa – Serotoniin
- Ewert & The Two Dragons – Hold Me Now
They will join the five acts that were pre-selected by a jury for the Grand Final on Saturday 17th February:
- Brother Apollo – Bad Boy
- Daniel Levi – Over The Moon
- Nele-Liis Vaiksoo – Käte Ümber Jää
- Carlos Ukareda – Never Growing Up
- Uudo Sepp & Sarah Murray – Still Love
🇦🇹 It’s Kaleen for Austria!
Austria surprised many fans on Tuesday when ORF announced that Kaleen will represent Austria at Eurovision 2024! She’s no stranger to the Eurovision stage (check out our TikTok to see why!), but we will have to wait a bit to hear the song she’ll take to Malmö.
🇸🇮 Raiven releases Veronika
We’ve known for a while now that Raiven would be representing Slovenia, but on Saturday evening, Misija Malmö aired on RTVSLO to release her song Veronika to the world (and giving Eurovision fans our 4th song for 2024!).

🇵🇹 Festival da Canção drops 20 songs for 2024
The highly anticipated Portuguese selection is back again in 2024, and will feature two Semi Finals of 10 songs each. The top 6 from each Semi will make it to the FdC Final on 9th March.
Broadcaster RTP has created a playlist of lyric videos for all 20 songs at this link. Here is the semi final split, with the exact running order still TBD:

🇩🇪 Songs released for Das Deutsche Finale 2024 … almost
Nine songs will battle it out on 16th February in Berlin for the right to represent Germany in Malmö. For now, eight songs have been released.
The ninth and final song will be the winner of a show called Ich will zum ESC, featuring Conchita Wurst as a coach. For now, fans can start streaming the eight entries chosen by the broadcaster NDR:

🇫🇮 All seven UMK songs are now available
If Germany and Portugal didn’t give you enough music, here’s seven more songs! After over a week of releasing one song per day, Finnish broadcaster Yle has finally released the seventh and final song competing in UMK 2024. One of these songs will be the sucessor of Käärijä’s Cha Cha Cha:

🇱🇹 Lithuania’s Eurovizija.lt Heat 2 Results
Heat 2 of 5 of Eurovizija.lt took place on Saturday. Joining Silvester Belt’s Luktelk and VB Gang’s Kaboom!!! in the Final are two more songs:
🇳🇴 Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2024 Heat 2 Qualifiers
Another northern European country is in its second week of the national selection process, and it was Norway. Despite the high hopes we had for Eli Kristin after a truly wonderful interview, she failed to progress to the MGP Final on 3rd February.
For a second week in a row, the last three songs that performed were the ones that qualified. This week saw the following three entries qualify:
