It’s the last of our four MGP interviews this week. We’ve been speaking with artists from Heat 3 of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2024! Today’s artists need no introduction to Eurofans as they won the televote in Tel Aviv in 2019 when they last represnted Norway at Eurovision — it’s KEiiNO!
The interview with Alexandra, Tom, and Fred was even more special as this is the 50th episode of the Building Bridges podcast, and we are so thrilled to have had them as guests on this episode!
Heat 3 of MGP is the last qualifying round for Norway’s final, and it will also mark three years since KEiiNO last stood on the MGP stage with their song Monument.
Just prior to meeting KEiiNO, Norway’s broadcaster NRK announced that KEiiNO will perform last in Heat 3, and thus Damdiggida will be the final song in Melodi Grand Prix this year, so we asked them their thoughts on that:
“Damdiggida means ‘the thing that makes you happy’ and we love Eurovision and I think it’s a good thing to end [MGP] with a song that is a bit uptempo and upbeat so people can end on a smiling high note!”
– Tom Hugo
Truth be told, we did not have the most typical interview with KEiiNO, as they are known so well and loved by Eurofans the world over, we decided to ask them some quick unconventional questions to end our chat.
Be sure to check out our full interview on your favourite podcast streaming platform to find out which member of KEiiNO is …
- the messiest one on tour,
- the one that’s always late,
- the one who loves raw salmon,
- the most nervous before a performance, and
- the biggest Eurovision fan!
We wish them the best of luck on Saturday and can’t wait to see how they will stage this party anthem!
