Welcome to our weekly post in our effort to keep you up-to-date on anything and everything *Eurovision* you might have missed in the last 7 days!

As January comes to a close, the week of the 21st-27th gave us two new Eurovision 2024 songs as Semi Final 1 in Malmö kicks off in just 100 days!!!

🇷🇴 Romania withdraws from Eurovision 2024

Starting off with some sad news, as Romania made it official on Thursday when broadcaster TVR voted against participation in Malmö. The writing had been on the wall for Romania for some time, given last year’s poor results, the drama that went along with it, and the cost for the struggling broadcaster.

🇳🇴 Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2024 Heat 3 Qualifiers

Norway’s MGP Final is all set for 3rd February! The last three acts qualified on Saturday evening from Heat 3, including Annprincess, MIIA, and KEiiNO, all of whom we had the pleasure of chatting with this week on the podcast!

This means that for all three Heats, the last three songs that performed were the ones that qualified. Check out their performances below:

🇮🇪 🌟 Ireland will #SendTheWitch to Malmö
The Late Late Show on RTÉ held its annual Eurosong show on Friday and fan-favourite Bambie Thug triumped with the Irish jury and televote, enough for their song Doomsday Blue to win the ticket to Eurovision.

🇱🇺 🌟 Luxembourg Song Contest

A slick, star-studded show took place in Luxembourg on Saturday night and featured Eurovision celebreties past and present. The show was very special as it chose the Duchy’s first Eurovision act since 1993, and was only RTL’s fifth-ever selection show.

While Joel Marques and Krick made it to the Super Final, both the international juries and televote chose Tali as their winner. She’ll represent Luxembourg in Malmö with Fighter.
