How the winner is decided?
The fate of Germany’s Eurovision entry lies in the hands of both the public and an international jury. Viewers at home can cast their votes, accounting for 50% of the final score, while the other 50% comes from an international jury.
Eight juries from eight different countries (Spain, Lithuania, Switzerland, Austria, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Croatia and Iceland) will score the songs, which will make up half of the total vote.
Each international jury will be composed of 5 members. In the event of a tie, the public vote will determine the winner.
Who’s hosting the national selection?
Our host for the evening will be a lady who has guided us through many German Eurovision events in the past – Barbara Schöneberger! Barbara will be on hand to introduce the 9 artists taking part, getting the audience at home and in the studio that extra bit hyped about Germany’s chances in Malmö.
The popular TV presenter, actress and singer will also serve as the capable hands into which the excited voting sequence is placed, as she fields the scores and finally presents to us our winner for the evening.
Germany’s act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will follow on from the group Lord of the Lost, who won the German pre-selection in 2023 and represented their country in Liverpool with the song Blood & Glitter.
