As Eurovision 2024 draws nearer, countries across Europe are gearing up to select their representatives for the grand event in Malmö. Here’s a roundup of the national finals happening this weekend, where you can catch the excitement and discover who will fly the flag for their nation:
Germany
Germany’s “Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024” is set to determine who will represent the country in Malmö. With nine acts hoping for the coveted spot, including familiar faces like Max Mutzke (Germany 2004), the competition promises to be fierce. Update: According to ESC-kompakt.de, due to a short-term program change, the ESC preliminary round “Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024” will only start at 10:20 PM instead of 10:05 PM as previously planned.

Moldova
In Moldova, “Etapa națională 2024” will feature eleven entries competing for the chance to represent the country at Eurovision 2024. Legendary Romanian group HOLOGRAF will be the main guest artist at the national final, adding to the excitement of the event.

Denmark’s ‘Melodi Grand Prix‘ promises an evening of entertainment as eight songs compete for the ticket to Malmö. With a mix of established artists like Basim, who represented the country in 2014 in Copenhagen, the Danish final is sure to deliver memorable performances.

Estonia
Estonia’s ‘Eesti Laul‘ is down to its final 10 contenders, each vying for the chance to represent the Baltic nation at Eurovision. The Tondiraba Ice Hall in Tallinn will host the event, with hosts Tõnis Niinemets and Grete Kuld guiding viewers through the exciting evening.

Iceland
‘Söngvakeppnin’ returns to Icelandic screens, featuring ten artists competing for glory. With two semi-finals leading up to the grand final, Icelandic viewers will have their say in selecting the country’s representative for Eurovision 2024.
This Saturday we’ll be able to see Semi-Final 1, and the list below are competing artists in the first evening:
- ANITA – “Stingum af” / “Downfall”
- Blankiflúr – “Sjá þig” / “Love You”
- Ceasetone – “Ró” / “Flow”
- Sunny – “Fiðrildi”
- VÆB – “Bíómynd” / “Movie Scene”
Söngvakeppnin 2024 consists of three shows: two semi-finals on February 17 and February 24, and the final on March 2. The winner will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö.
In each semi-final, five acts perform live in Icelandic. The top two acts from each semi-final, determined by national vote, advance to the final. Additionally, one wildcard finalist may be chosen by the show’s producers from the remaining contestants. Contestants in the final perform in their chosen Eurovision language.
The hosts for Söngvakeppnin 2024 are Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson, and Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson.

Lithuania
Lithuania’s final Eurovizija.LT will take place at the Švyturys Arena in Klaipėda, with Monika Linkytė, the country’s representative in Eurovision 2023, performing as the interval act. Ten acts will compete for the chance to follow in her footsteps.

Sweden
The third heat of Sweden’s selection process will unfold at the Vida Arena in Växjö, showcasing a diverse range of talent vying for the opportunity to represent the nation on the home soil at Eurovision 2024.
