Welcome to our weekly post in an effort to keep you up-to-date on anything and everything *Eurovision* you might have missed in the last 7 days! Spoliers ahead!
The week of the 18th-24th February gave us three new songs to add to our Eurovision 2024 playlists, plus lots of other spilled tea!
🇵🇱 🌟 LUNA lucks out in Poland
We didn’t have to wait long this week for the first tea to spill. Many Polish fans were surprised when TVP’s internal jury put Justyna Steczkowska just 1 point behind winner LUNA. Her catchy song The Tower will fly the white and red in May! LUNA will perform in the first half of Semi Final 1.
🇧🇪 🌟 Better late than never for Belgium
Last August, Belgium was the first country to announce its plans for Eurovision 2024. Mustii was chosen shortly after Malmö was as host city! The wait for his Eurovision song came to an end on Tuesday, when he released his emotional power ballad, Before The Party’s Over. Mustii will perform in the second half of Semi Final 2.
🇸🇲 🌟 Shocker in San Marino
Megara knocked off Italian legend Loredana Bertè to win the third edition of Una voce per San Marino. In a show that dragged on and at times lacked clarity, the audience had mostly left by the time Megara performed their reprise of the winning rock song 11:11. Megara will perform in the second half of Semi Final 2.
During the week, we spoke with two of the artists; Aaron Sibley placed 13th, while BOOOM! came a respectable 5th! Social media was ‘booming’ after the show, and Dave had a look at what fans were saying, in this special edition of the podcast:

🇸🇪 Heat 4 of Melodifestivalen in Eskilstuna
The fourth of five Heats of Melfest wrapped up in Sweden on Saturday night. In a new format for 2024, there is no ‘Second Chance’ Round, with the Top 2 songs from the five Heats going directly to the Final in Stockholm on 9th March.
After the first round of voting, Danny Saucedo was the favourite with Happy That You Found Me, and goes straight to the Final in Stockholm. After a second round of voting, It’s Not Easy to Write a Love Song by Dotter had the most points and now also has a spot in the Final. Their songs will be released on YouTube and streaming services after Heat 5.
There is some hope left for the songs that finished in 3rd and 4th place. These songs are entered into a vote that will happen immediately after Heat 5 to choose the 11th and 12th spots in the Mello Final. This week’s runners up are:
