Welcome to our weekly post in an effort to keep you up-to-date on anything and everything *Eurovision* you might have missed in the last 7 days! Spoliers ahead!

Welcome to March! Did the week of the 25th to the 2nd go by in a blur? The last week gave us eight new songs to add to our Eurovision 2024 playlists!

🇨🇭 🇦🇹 🇳🇱 🇨🇾 🇬🇧 🌟 A week of internal selections released

Five countries that do not host national selection shows, released their songs in just over 24 hours from each other! Thanks to Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Cyprus, and the United Kingdom for keeping us on our toes this week!

🇭🇷 🌟 Dora comes to an end in Croatia

With the Semis last week, the final in Croatia took place on Sunday, putting Dora alone in the spotlight with no other shows happening that day. Few were surprised when Baby Lasagna (interview) was declared the winner, but some eyebrows raised when the televote revealed he had won by over 85,000 votes and 220 points from the second place artist (Alen Đuras). Baby Lasagna will perform in the first half of Semi Final 1.

🇷🇸 🌟 Teya Dora victorious in Serbia

Another Balkan nation chose its Eurovision artist this week. On Saturday Pesma za Evroviziju came to an end in a Grand Final featuring 16 artists. Winning the jury vote and coming 2nd in the televote was Teya Dora with her ballad Ramonda. The runners up were Breskvica in 2nd place, Zorja took the bronze, while PZE 2022 winner Konstrakta finished 4th overall.

🇮🇸 🌟 Söngvakeppnin shocker!

Hera Björk (interview) is heading back to Eurovision for a second time! The bookmakers had her 4th of 5 acts heading into the Icelandic final, but she managed to beat the bookies’ favourite (Bashar Murad) to clinch the win with Scared of Heights. Broadcaster RÚV is expected to confirm Iceland’s participation at Eurovision 2024 in the coming days.

🇵🇹  Festival da Canção Final line-up complete

Semi Final 2 has concluded in Lisbon as Portugal continues its search for the successor to Mimicat! Six of the ten acts from each Semi Final will proceed to the Grand Final on Saturday, 9th March. The acts moving on from Semi 2 include:

🇸🇪 Heat 5 of Melodifestivalen in Karlstad

A first-ever 5th Heat of Melodifestivalen took place on Saturday. Not only did it decide the usual two acts that secured their spots in the Final, but it ended in a nerve-wracking vote to choose just two of the 10 third and fourth place finishers from the five Heats.

Qualifying directly from Heat 5 were Marcus & Martinus and Medina, while the last two spots from the 3rd and 4th place finishers interestingly went to the 3rd and 4th places from Heat 5, meaning Jay Smith and Annika Wickihalder also secured their places in the Final.

Shortly after Heat 5 ended, broadcaster SVT announced the running order for the Final in Friends Arena in Stockholm, set for Saturday, 9th March:

  1. Maria Sur — When I’m Gone [interview]
  2. Jay Smith — Back to My Roots
  3. Lisa Ajax — Awful Liar
  4. Smash Into Pieces — Heroes Are Calling
  5. Cazzi Opeia — Give My Heart a Break
  6. Annika Wickihalder — Light
  7. Marcus & Martinus — Unforgettable
  8. Dotter — It’s Not Easy to Write a Love Song
  9. Medina — Que Sera
  10. Liamoo — Dragon

  12. Danny Saucedo — Happy That You Found Me
