After 5 Heats and an exciting Grand Final, Melodifestivalen 2024 has come to an end and Sweden, the host nation of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, has decided that the Norwegian twins Marcus & Martinus will represent them with the song “Unforgettable”.

Marcus & Martinus are no strangers to Melodifestivalen or Eurovision. Getting fame through their music via social media, the twins have been exposed to the public eye from a young age. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, when they were only 15 years old, they were chosen to announce the 12 points of the Norwegian jury.

Last year, at Melodifestivalen 2023, they finished in a close second place with their hit song “Air”, only losing to the phenomenal Loreen, who ended up winning the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden with “Tattoo”.

This year, Marcus & Martinus have finally secured the Melodifestivalen victory, making them the Swedish representatives on home ground, with “Unforgettable”.

Here is what we think about the Swedish entry for Malmö:

Jan: ★★★★☆

Everything about this is 100% professional. Marcus and Martinus are amazing and experienced performers with great voices and the staging is slick. A very worthy host entry and probably another Top 10 for Sweden!

Sebi: ★★★★☆

The song is really nothing new and has been on the Eurovision stage a million times. However, this stage show is one of a kind and makes the whole package very enjoyable!

Dave: ★★★★★

I’m thrilled this won Melfest. I’ve been listening to it on repeat – it’s such a great bop! Whatever flaws anyone can find in the song itself, the performance more than makes up for it, and I hope this shines on the big stage in Malmö in a few months. M&M have wanted to get to Eurovision almost their whole lives, so it’s nice to see their dream come true!
