This morning, the EBU revealed a very special treat for all the ABBA fans, which will be present in Malmö during the two weeks of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. In honour of the 50th anniversary of ABBA’s Eurovision victory, ‘ABBA world’ will be launched exclusively in Malmö from April 29th to May 12th.
‘ABBA World’ will combine the best of ABBA The Museum, ABBA Voyage, Mamma Mia!, Mamma Mia! The Party and Polar Music International all under one roof.
Located in the center of Malmö, the ‘ABBA World’ exhibition is going to spread out over two floors and will showcase the following 5 elements:
ABBA The Museum – an interactive museum, that not only showcases the band’s most famous costumes and gold records, but lets the visitors experience the feeling of being onstage with ABBA.
ABBA Voyage – one of London’s most popular shows, in which the band members perform their most beloved records in the form of digital avatars, backed by today’s best singers.
MAMMA MIA! – the record-breaking musical, composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, which even made it to the Broadway and resulted in two Hollywood movies.
MAMMIA MIA! The Party – premiering in Stockholm in 2016, MAMMA MIA – The Party provides an exclusive experience, dedicated to the beloved musical, with over 1 million guests.
Polar Music International – The Swedish record label, which served as ABBA’s label inside the Scandinavian countries and acts as the guardian of the band’s oeuvre.
The tickets for ‘ABBA World’ will go on sale this Friday, March 22nd at 10:00 CET. For more information and all the updates, subscribe to the ABBA World e-mail under this link!
In 1974, ABBA achieved the first Swedish victory in the Eurovision Song Contest, with their song ‘Waterloo’. Their performance in Brighton marks an important moment in pop history as the band’s international breakthrough.
