On today’s episode of the Building Bridges Eurovision podcast, we meet the Latvian band Citi Zēni, who are competing in Supernova 2025 with their new song Ramtai.

Citi Zēni are of course familiar to many Eurovision fans, as they have already represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with Eat Your Salad, where they finished in 14th place in the first semi-final.

In this episode, Sebi and Dave chat with Citi Zēni who are aiming to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with “Ramtai”. The boys chat about the meaning of “Ramtai”, their previous time in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin and of course their staging ideas for Supernova 2025. The lads also took the opportunity to troll Dave by singing a new song about Latvia’s historic win over Canada at the recent World U20 Hockey championship!

When asked about their possible Eurovision comeback, the boys revealed that they have wanted to return to the competition ever since 2022:

“We were flirting with the idea of a Eurovision comeback ever since the day after the semi-final in Turin. And the flirting has blossomed into a beautiful romance that we are trying to pursue for the second time. And everything fell into place when Ramtai was created!”

Furthermore, the band revealed that they have planned a very unique staging for their song, which they gave away in our interview:

“We had fun trying to develop the staging and trying all these different things. You are either going to love what we’re gonna do on stage on the 1st of February or you’re going to say that we really f***ed this up. There is just one of the two options. But it is not going to be forgetful. We’ve got something big planned!”
