The countdown to Melodi Grand Prix (MGP) is in full swing, and one group making waves is the newly formed girl band LLL. Comprised of Sofia, Rebecca, and Eli, the trio is bringing a fresh blend of nostalgia and modern pop to the Eurovision stage. In a recent episode of the Building Bridges Podcast, the girls opened up about their journey, their vision, and what fans can expect as they compete to represent Norway in Eurovision 2025.

“We’ve been working together for about a year now.”

— Sofia-Augusta Thoresen (LLL)

Surprise! We’re back already! In this episode, Jan and Dave caught up with the ladies from LLL mere hours after they were announced as one of the nine artists competing in Melodi Grand Prix 2025 in Norway! This episode was too good to hold on to, we hope you enjoy hearing from Sofia, Rebecca, and Elisabet as they use MGP to launch their new girl band, all with the help of Keith from Subwoolfer!

The group came together under the guidance of their manager, Ben Adams, who previously represented Norway at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, as half of Subwoolfer.

Known for his own success in MGP and Eurovision, Adams saw the potential for a dynamic girl band that Norway—and Europe—was missing. Inspired by the legacy of iconic groups like the Spice Girls, LLL was born to bring girl power back, with a 2025 twist.

The trio’s name remains a playful mystery, however. When prompted, the girls joked about it standing for “Live, Laugh, Love,” but the true meaning is still under wraps for now.

Sofia quipped with a smile:

“For now, let’s go with that.”

— Sofia-Augusta Thoresen (LLL)

For LLL, the road to MGP has been nothing short of a dream come true.

“We’ve always wanted to compete in Eurovision, so this has been on our wish list from the start.”

— Sofia-Augusta Thoresen (LLL)

After an audition process that began with a catchy song co-written by Adams and fellow MGP competitor Noura, the group was officially selected.

“It’s been hard keeping it a secret since September!”

— Rebecca Pleym (LLM)

Their entry, “Parasite”, carries a powerful message.

“The song is about embracing your inner demons.”

— Sofia-Augusta Thoresen (LLL)

Inspired by a Norwegian saying about the “ugly duckling on your back,” it’s a story of self-acceptance and resilience.

“We want to inspire especially young girls to embrace every part of themselves—the good and the bad.”

— Sofia-Augusta Thoresen (LLL)

As lifelong Eurovision fans, the girls are no strangers to the magic of the contest.

“I grew up watching it every year.”

— Elisabet Drøsdal (LLL)

Eli shares that Loreen’s “Euphoria” is her personal favorite. For Rebecca, the Eurovision research has been intense:

“Since finding out we’re competing, I’ve deep-dived into every Eurovision song. Right now, I can’t get Nemo’s ‘The Code’ out of my head.”

— Rebecca Pleym (LLL)

While they’ve drawn inspiration from past icons, LLL is determined to leave their own mark. With a month to go before the MGP final, the group is fine-tuning choreography and staging alongside a talented team.

“It’s going to be epic.”

— LLL

When asked about their ultimate goal, the girls are clear: MGP is just the beginning.

“This is our launchpad. We’re excited to share our music and message of girl power with the world. After MGP—and winning Eurovision, of course—we’re going to release more music and show what LLL is all about.”

— Sofia-Augusta Thoresen (LLL)

As they prepare for their MGP debut, the trio has one request for fans:

“Follow your dreams—and help us achieve ours by voting for us!”

— LLL

For Norwegian listeners, they had a special message:

“Det er en ære å representere Norge i Eurovision. Stem på oss, så lover vi glitter, tårer og en uforglemmelig opplevelse!” (It’s an honor to represent Norway in Eurovision. Vote for us, and we promise glitter, tears, and an unforgettable experience!)

— LLL

With their infectious energy, meaningful message, and undeniable talent, LLL is ready to captivate Norway—and Europe. As they step into the spotlight, one thing is certain: the future of girl power is here, and it’s glittering.
