Six finalists competed in Söngvakeppnin, the Icelandic national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Reykjavik tonight and after an exciting voting sequence, Iceland has found its winner.
The bubbly duo VÆB was unanimously selected by the international juries and the Icelandic the televoters to represent Iceland at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel with the song “RÓA“.
VÆB is a duo of two brothers, the 20-year-old Matthías Davíð Matthíasson and 21-year-old Hálfdán Helgi Matthíasson who are rising stars in their home country. They have already competed in Söngvakeppnin last year, where they finished in 4th place in the final.
This year it is finally their turn to perform on the biggest stage in the world in the name of their home country Iceland. Watch their energetic live performance of “RÓA” here:
