Unexpected news come from Malta today, as the EBU announces that the word “Kant” which is the title of the Maltese Eurovision song, will not be allowed at the contest after all.
Initally, the word “Kant” was approved by the EBU, as it translates to “singing” in Maltese. However, according to TVM News, a different EBU member – believed to be the BBC – has now requested that the word “Kant” needs to be removed and the song title to be changed, due to its offensive meaning in English.
Miriana has expressed her disappointment about the unexpected news on her Instagram profile:
Malta will be performing in the second half of the second semi-final, with a song title yet to be announced.
