Switzerland has finally announced its representative for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel. It is 24-year-old singer-songwriter Zoë Më, who will have the honour of representing the host country in the Eurovision final.

Zoë Më is known for her bilingual music in German and French. She was born in the host city Basel, but grewp un in the bilingual city of Fribourg, which is why she is utilizing both languages in her music, which varies from sad ballads to joyful pop songs.

She has shared her joy about the ability to represent Switzerland on home territory with eurovision.tv:

“Representing Switzerland at the ESC while we are hosting the contest is a huge honour and a surreal experience. I’m from Basel, and my grandparents live here. This is a full-circle moment, just like something out of a fairytale.”

Her song for the Eurovision Song Contest will be released on Monday, March 10th at 10:00 AM CET.

As the host country, Switzerland is already qualified to the Grand Final on May 17th but we will see them perform in the first Semi Final on May 13th. Switzerland’s position in the running order will be decided by a draw, once all countries have selected their entries.
