It was over six months ago, when Cyprus revealed who would represent them in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel. 27-year-old singer and dancer Theo Evan, born in Nicosia, was announced as the Cypriot representative for Basel in September 2024.
Theo spent his early years in dance classes, singing in his school choir, and participating in numerous theater productions and talent competitions across Cyprus, often receiving accolades for his performances.
After graduating from The English School in Nicosia, Theo moved to the United States to pursue studies in music and performance at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He graduated with distinction and has since been invited back as an honorary guest at the university’s graduation ceremonies on three occasions, sharing the stage with notable figures such as Missy Elliot, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Eurovision 2016’s interval performer, Justin Timberlake.
Theo released his debut single The Wall in 2021, and since then, he has created an impressive collection of tracks, drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists like Stromae, Michael Jackson, and reggaeton. He also featured as an extra on HPO’s popular TV Show “Euphoria”.
Today, Theo’s Eurovision song “Shh” was finally released on CyBC an the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
Cyprus will perform in the second half of the first semi-final on Tuesday, May 13th. Do you think they will qualify to the Grand Final?
