It is such an honour to have Red Sebastian back here at Building Bridges for another chat, this time, as he prepares for the Eurovision stage in Basel. We last spoke to him before Eurosong when he could not even discuss his song!
Red Sebastian has embraced this new spotlight with passion and determination. In this exclusive interview with Building Bridges, he discusses intense rehearsals and music video shoots to navigating newfound recognition on the streets of Belgium.
With his song Strobe Lights already making waves and a packed pre-party schedule ahead (Amsterdam, London, Madrid), all eyes are on this dynamic performer as he sets his sights on bringing home the coveted glass microphone trophy, 40 years since Belgium’s first and only Eurovision victory.
Red Sebastian is bringing a level of confidence to Eurovision that is rarely seen. Since winning Eurosong, his entire life has shifted to prepare for his date with the Eurovision stage, something he’s been dreaming of almost his entire life:
“I really want to bring something wonderful to Basel. I’m rehearsing, gymming a lot, going to vocal classes, doing choreography coaching—I’m putting in all the work necessary to be at my best. […] If you don’t believe it, then it won’t happen. And if you do believe in it and work hard, then everything’s possible.”

On 11th March, the music video for Strobe Lights was finally released, and this is what Red Sebastian had to say about making it:
“I like to play with contrasts […] there’s the more everyday version of me and then the alter ego, Red Rave Sebastian. […] It was so fun shooting it, and I had five friends with me—those red hands you see all over me, those are my friends!”
