The charming Aaron Sibley is our guest for today’s episode! He will compete on Saturday, 24th February as one of the ‘Big’ artists chosen to for the Final of Una voce per San Marino 2024!
Aaron last competed in the Sammarinese selection show back in 2022 with Pressure, achieving third place! Two years ago, he was considered an ’emerging artist’ and had to go through rounds of auditions and semi finals to reach the UVPSM Final.
On Saturday, he’ll set foot in the microstate for the first time this year and reveal his new song, Human, which he wrote with Max Cinnamon. If that name sounds familiar, Max competed in France’s “Destination Eurovision 2018”, and was a writer on Croatia’s Eurovision entry Tick Tock from 2021.
Aaron is an English musician who is a big Eurovision fan himself. Aside from publishing Eurovision reaction videos on his YouTube channel, Aaron competed in Selecția Națională to represent Moldova in 2018!
San Marino has a history of sending non-Sammarinese artists to Eurovision, so we asked Aaron how he’d feel to represent a country that’s not his own:
“I’m not from there, but I feel a lot more like I belong in this kind of situation, especially now because I had my involvement and won the competition the last time I was there [2022]. So I do feel a real connection to the country, and also the fact that they opened it up to international competition kind of throws the rule book out of the window a little bit with this kind of thing. If I win I would definitely go there [ESC] and do them proud and be very much representing San Marino, not the UK, which is really exciting!”

When it comes to his UVPSM entry Human, Aaron explained the meaning behind the song, and also teased what we might see on stage:
“It’s a very deep any mysterious song. It’s just talking mostly about the fact that we as humans are so stuck in our 9 to 5 structure, but also deeper than that we’re also stuck in believing what we’re told to believe, and not thinking outside the box, and if you don’t fit with the status quo then you start questioning what’s wrong with you. So it’s a very beautiful message, I think, and visually it will be a show — let’s just say that!”
