Welcome to our weekly post in an effort to keep you up-to-date on anything and everything *Eurovision* you might have missed in the last 7 days! Spoliers ahead!
🇧🇪 🌟 RED SEBASTIAN rocks Eurosong
The bookmakers have consistently held Belgium near the top of the odds to win Eurovision 2025 for some time now, and now we know why! Red Sebastian is sending his banger Strobe Lights to Basel. Check out his performance AND our chat with him before Eurosong!
🇪🇸 🌟 No sorpresa for Spain
In what was perhaps the most unsurprising result from Saturday night, Melody won the 4th annual Benidorm Fest with her song Esa diva. She was the one to beat all week, and with a triumphant televote score, secured her ticket to Basel!
🇸🇮 🌟 EMA wraps up in Ljubljana
Ten songs competed in Slovenia’s EMA 2025, with a jury choosing only two acts to proceed to a 100% televote Superfinal. It was probably always going to come down to Klemen and July Jones, and that’s precisely what happened. In the end, the public decided to put its faith for Basel in Klemen’s hands, with his ballad How Much Time Do We Have Left.
🇱🇻 Supernova Final set for next week
In Latvia, Supernova’s one and only Semi Final ended with 19 songs getting cut down to just ten, based on a 50% jury/televote decision. The final is set for next Saturday, 8th February, with the following entries:
- Tepat – Sadzejot
- Citi Zēni – Ramtai
- Emilija – Heartbeat
- LEGZDINA x Bel Tempo – The Water
- PALÚ – Delusional
- The Ludvig – Līgo
- Chris Noah – Romance Isn’t Dead
- Tautumeitas – Bur man laimi
- Sinerģija – Bound By The Light

🇱🇹 Songs 7 and 8 chosen for Lithuanian Final
Just a bit south, Baltic neighbour Lithuania held Heat 4 of 5 of Eurovizija.LT. Nine acts were cut to just two, who are now off to the Final in 2 weeks’ time. Those finalists are:
🇸🇪 Melodifestivalen kicked off in Luleå
In the national final to which all other national finals are measured, Melfest kicked off with a bang in Sweden. Heat 1 saw six acts compete, with two spots in the Final up for grabs [Q], and one act that could still qualify via a special final qualification round after Heat 5 on 1st March [AC].
This year, points were not shown on screen, but the final result was:
- [Q] John Lundvik – Voice of the Silent
- [Q] Maja Ivarsson – Kamikaze Life
- [AC] Meira Omar – Hush Hush
- [NQ] Albin Johnsén feat. Pa – Upp i luften
- [NQ] Adrian Macéus – Vår första gång
- [NQ] Linnea Henriksson – Den känslan
Saturday saw the most Swedish songs in one Melfest Heat since 2018, however all three Swedish songs failed to qualify.
By qualifying direkt till final, John Lundvik ties second place with 4 automatic qualifications in a row. He joins Melfest legends Mariette, Eric Saade, Robin Bengtsson, Jon Henrik Fjallgren, and LIAMOO. Only Danny Saucedo has more, with 5 in a row!
