Who the hell did we speak to today on the podcast?

Well none other than Lauren, Holly-Anne, and Charlotte from Remember Monday! They were the BBC’s worst-kept secret until this pop-country trio were announced as the United Kingdom’s Eurovision act for 2025 in March!

The three bandmates have been best friends since the age of 16. In our chat with them, they shared how thrilled they are about their Eurovision experience, which has allowed them to pursue their dreams full-time. Now they are the UK’s act at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest with their entry What The Hell Just Happened?!

We began our chat with the band by asking about how their personal friendships have evolved during their preparations for Eurovision in Basel:

“Our friendship is always the most important thing to us, which is why we’ve lasted this long and why we feel like we could last forever. It’s because we prioritize each other and our friendship and we’re each other’s therapist and things like that.”

— Holly-Anne Hull

When it comes to their attitude going into Eurovision, the trio are aware of the United Kingdom’s recent streak of poor results, but are not focused on where they will end up on the scoreboard:

“And more than the competition side, we want people to leave and go, they’re my new favorite girl band, and if that’s what people think, then we’ve won. No matter what the points are.”

— Holly-Anne Hull

As far as their staging for Basel is concerned, the ladies understandibly did not want to spoil the surprise, but did hint at what might be an epic performance:

“Well, we’ve got the most incredible staging director called Ace, who we’re just the biggest fans of. And, you know, they’ve worked with some of the most incredible female acts out there, like Blackpink, Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa. And we just, we want people to watch our performance and just get joy and excitement and everything from it and feel what we’re feeling […] and it’s very, very girly.”

— Charlotte Steele

“Yeah, we basically want anyone that’s in that auditorium or watching it, we want them to feel like they’re at a Remember Monday concert.”

— Holly-Anne Hull

When it comes to the favourite part of the girls’ Eurovision journey so far, it has to be their interactions with fans. They positively lit up when they spoke about their new fans:

“[…] the fact that our summer is full of festivals, we’ve got plans for the end of the year, wink, wink. There are so many exciting things happening because of Eurovision. We just couldn’t be more grateful and excited.”

— Lauren Byrne

“Every single person that has commented on our video or streamed our song, we literally want to personally pick you up and crowd-surf you through the party. Honestly, we are so grateful for what has happened to us thus far.”

— Holly-Anne Hull

And their message to fans who might bump into them on the streets of London, or Basel:

“Our favourite thing ever is when people come up and say hello to us. The other day, we were in Trafalgar Square, at the end of the day, walking back to the train station, and someone came over and we were like, it’s so good to meet you!”

— Lauren Byrne

“We often get a lot of messages being like, we saw you on the train, but we didn’t want to bother you. It’s like, bother us! Honestly, everyone is always more than welcome to come and say hi. We are big wide open arms, and we can’t wait to meet everyone!”

— Holly-Anne Hull
